DJ/karaoke system
| Our fund made another contribution to the Territorial Community of Snezhnoye. A portable DJ/Karaoke system, complete with disco lights and TWO wireless mikes! Snezhnoye is a town near the Russian border, with a population of about 50,000. It had a hard time during and after the fall of the USSR, and suffered greatly from Ukrainian army and air force attacks in 2014. On July 15th, 2014, an airstrike on a block of civilian flats killed (murdered) 12 civilians, including children. Snezhnoye has a tight knit community where people help each other out, socialize, and everybody looks after the kids. The Children’s Community Center, built from scratch by local volunteers and multiple contributions from ‘Donbass Humanitarian Aid’ fund, turned a small deserted farm into an outdoor movie theater, water slide, playground, park and kids’ Learning Center. It was a community effort that really has made a great improvement to the lives of so many citizens, especially the kids. The DJ system will be used at the Center, as well as for holidays, civic events and celebrations. It is a surprisingly good piece of equipment that we were able to get for a very reasonable price, and should give years of enjoyment to so many people. In Snezhnoye, a little bit goes a long way!
