Goodbye Summer

On the Day of the Liberation of Donbass, September 8, 2019, our Foundation
sponsored the “Goodbye Summer” holiday for disabled children of the Makeevka Association of People with Disabilities “Nika Plus”, chairlady Irina Chibizova. The holiday was very sincere and fun. There were so many smiles and laughter not only of the children themselves, but also of the adults who were with them. We delighted those special children with gifts for participating (if possible) in competitions and just like that, having prepared individual sets in advance for boys and girls separately, as well as considering those children who are on a strict diet. The set included an album for drawing, a set of colored paper, a set of felt-tip pens, 2 coloring books, 3 notebooks, a pen, a pencil, two chocolate waffles (and for children with diabetes, fructose waffles). That wonderful holiday was held by the chairlady of the NGO “Give Good” Irina Zosenko and her team. They are great fellows! A special hello to just darling Bear named Mikhail Potapych. For the event, balloons, colored crayons, markers, jump ropes and two soccer balls were purchased. At the end of the holiday, tired but happy, the children feasted on yummy treats at the sweet table. We purchased peaches, plums, pears, juices, chocolates and rolls (for diabetic children, fructose candies and fructose cookies).
All this was prepared for 37 children. A few of them, unfortunately, were not able to come. But they were given everything home. Children with more serious illnesses received an additional 5 packs of diapers, which is very important for them in such a difficult time! We thank everyone who contributed to make this holiday for special children a reality!

Preparation for school

For some years now, our fund has been helping large families from Makeyevka and Khanzhyonkovo to get their children ready for school. This year, we’ve helped one extra large family in Shakhtyorsk as well. We purchased all the necessary school supplies for the schoolchildren in those families, washing and cleaning products, and personal hygiene products. And also brought sweets. Well, how to go to the children without them! There are 2 more members in Makeevka’s family now – 2 chinchillas! They’re a family friend’s birthday present. The children are happy to take care of them and play with them. Good news! Their father with disability has begun to work one step at a time. We wish good health to them. Well done in the family from Khanzhyonkovo too! Together, they’re gradually repairing their house, have begun to build a shed behind the house. Also they are breeding chickens and planted a small kitchen garden in the spring. The youngest students diligently wrote down all the fairy tales they had read over the summer. They showed their essays to us. But the trouble is, the grandmother who is the caretaker of the children broke her leg. We wish her a speedy recovery!
All three families were very grateful to the fund and the donors for such an
important help for them!
God bless you!

Novoazovsk. Goodbye summer

On August 21, 2019, “Donbass Humanitarian Aid” Foundation sponsored prizes for children of different ages from the front-line villages of Sakhanka and Krasnoarmeyskoye, who arrived to the south of the DPR to the city of Novoazovsk for the entertainment event “Goodbye, Summer”. For prizes, we brought the children albums for drawing, notebooks, pens, coloring books, and various sweets. No one was left without prizes! Each child got several prizes because many times participated in interesting fun contests, enjoyed their sweets with pleasure. We also paid for some fuel for one of the buses on the route Makeevka – Novoazovsk – Makeevka, purchased colored crayons, balls and jump ropes for this large event, which was organized by the friendly organizations “Give Good”, “Union of the Strong in Spirit” and “Free Donbass”. The holiday was a great success! Of course, we ourselves were there too. On our way, along with all the actors and organizers, we inflated balls and made flowers from them to give to children. We met with the perky bear Mikhail Potapych, saw joyful sparks in the eyes of children, their smiles and laughter! It was worth it so that the children, to this day living in the zone of whistling bullets and exploding shells, once again felt the care, kindness and warmth of the hearts of people who are trying to snatch them from the clutches of war for at least a little while and return them to a happy childhood.
God be thanked! And thanks to everyone who made this holiday possible!

NEW WINDOW FROM OUR FOUNDATION

We brought the boy pencils and an album and he drew picture of his house

In the early morning hours of 28 June, 2019 Ukraine Army shelled a civilian area of Petrovsky District, with 122 mm heavy artillery. Several apartments were hit, many windows were broken, just by luck nobody was seriously hurt. Helena’s apartment sustained major damage to window, ceiling and walls. ‘Donbass Humanitarian Aid’ stepped in and paid for the window and installation, the city government contributed bricks, cement, plaster and skilled labor for the wall and ceiling repairs.
Helena lives in the apartment with her Mom and 6 year old son. Winter is coming, and the repairs mean the difference between a livable flat and freezing. This random attack on civilians was a true act of terrorism. Thanks to all who pitched in to help a Mom, a Grandmom and an innocent little kid get their lives back to normal.
