Kovalev orphanage needs help

There are 22 children in the Kovalev orphanage, many of them are victims of the war.  They lost their parents and their homes, there was no one to take care of them. These children found their home in the house of Lydia Anatolyevna Kovaleva. We often visit them. This time we brought food, hygiene products, detergents, soap and, of course, sweets. Mom turned to us with a request to help in purchasing bed linen, and the children asked to buy them bicycles: for 22 children they have only 4 bicycles for the youngest kids.
So, we started collecting money for these projects. We thank all our donors and volunteers.

Mom from Novobeshevo

No Images found.

Just before Easter the Donbass Humanitarian Aid crew took a road trip to the village of Novobeshevo in DPR, which saw heavy fighting in 2014. Julia and her 6 kids are in tough times, no jobs out in the country, small relief payments from the Republic, house needs repairs, and kids need some food and traditional Orthodox cakes for Easter. So we brought our standard packet of food donations – lots of everything! Plus apples, sweets and candy, flour and raisins for traditional Russian Easter cakes. This was our first trip to help Julia and the kids, but it won’t be our last!

The sponsors also donated a blanket, a pillow, footwear and some children’s toys. Nevertheless, it still operates with the help of dedicated volunteers. Thanks to all who pitched in, together we are making a better world for everybody, one life at a time!

Special chair

Two single mothers both named Irina, who at the moment cannot work, as they are caring for their sick children, contacted the ‘Donbass Humanitarian Aid’ Foundation. One of the women is a resident of the city of Kirovskoye, which endured an unbearably terrible six months of hostilities. One day was more terrible than the next with pleas for the horror of the war to end as soon as possible. But trouble does not come alone. Irina gave birth to a healthy baby, Egor. After a while, signs of a neurological disease began to appear. Now Egor is two years old, but he cannot even crawl and sit, he cannot hold his head up. In the Donetsk Regional Scientific and Practical Center for the Rehabilitation of Children with Cerebral Palsy and Diseases of the Nervous System, they set an optimistic prognosis for his recovery. At the moment, little Egor needs a special chair with a high back, a soft area near the head and straps to fix the child on the chair, so that he learns to sit first. And also a special neck brace to help Egor learn to hold his head up normally. The second woman’s family has two children who also suffered from the war. Unfortunately, extreme stress triggered autism in the youngest girl Sofia. She also regularly undergoes rehabilitation at the same center as Egor, also with a good prognosis. Between the courses of rehabilitation, the girl needs treatment with prescribed medications. Our foundation was able to help these two children in everything they need at the moment thanks to the help of Roman, a young parishioner of the Russian Orthodox Church in Tampa, Florida, USA. Roma recently celebrated his eighth birthday. Friends gave him birthday money, but he decided to give this money to the needs of the children of Donbass who suffered from the war.

In gratitude, Egor’s mother wrote the following: “Thank you so much! You have worked a miracle for us! To be honest, this is the first time this happens to us. You instilled such a strong faith, literally breathed life, because, even it’s scary to talk about it, I was already about to give up … ”

We wish these children and everyone who is sick a speedy recovery. Thanks to ALL donors and volunteers of our foundation! We accept any help, so join us!
